Free bike security marking session at Rushcliffe Arena – Saturday 18th January

January 13th, 2020

Cyclists can get their bikes securely marked with their postcode for free at a security event at Rushcliffe Arena.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Community Safety team and Nottinghamshire Police will host the session at the centre on Rugby Road in West Bridgford on Saturday 18 January from 10am to 12pm.

Security marking or registering a bike is a permanent way to mark a bike’s property and ensure it is returned to the rightful owner if it is stolen.

Bike users attending the event will receive advice on how to further protect their cycles from thieves with the use of stronger locks and how bikes should always be locked up in a public and well-lit area.

Weak locks can also be swapped for a ‘D’ lock at the event, whilst stocks last.

The session will also provide burglary prevention advice, 24 hr timers and shed locks to help residents keep their property secure this winter.
