Calling all bread makers in Langar & Barnstone

April 16th, 2020

Calling all bread makers

The Vale Market Cafe has been donated a quantity of strong white bread flour by ADM Agriculture Ltd. This is a Bakers grade flour perfect for use in the production of; bread, rolls, pizza bases, puff pastry, Danish pastry, boiled pastry and flat breads.

We are looking to distribute the flour to households in our parish. If you can make use of some strong white flour and would like some delivered to your door please get in touch. We recommend you order the volume that your household would use over the next couple of months until supplies are back to normal in the supermarkets.

If you would like to benefit from this initiative please email us with the quantity you require. All we ask is for a nominal donation to the Vale Market Cafe, all proceeds raised will be put back into the Langar Cum Barnstone community.

Many thanks to Barnstone resident James Barlow for organising this donation in response to our Community Bread Delivery initiative.

To register your interest please email vmcbreadorder@gmail.com putting FLOUR in the subject header. Let us know your name, address and the quantity of flour you require and we will organise the rest.

NCC Information on Free Parking Permits for NHS Workers, Social Care staff & volunteers

Free parking permits for NHS workers, social care staff, key workers and volunteers

Councillor John Cottee

Chairman of Communities & Place Committee

Nottinghamshire County Council

Nottinghamshire County Council and all Nottinghamshire district and borough councils have launched a free parking permit for NHS and social care workers during the Coronavirus public health emergency.  The permits allow eligible staff to park for an unlimited time on single yellow lines, in residents’ parking areas, limited waiting bays, or council-owned car parks.

As well as NHS and social care workers, the permit offer is extended to anyone providing direct support helping unwell and vulnerable people in their communities at this unprecedented time, including emergency service workers, community volunteers, frontline transport workers, and local authority staff. We recognise that many are relying on cars to get themselves to and from work and minimise the spread of infection, and that they are also working long hours.

Eligible people can apply for a permit online at: https://secure.mipermit.com/Nottinghamshire
