Withdrawal of Trent Barton V2 bus service with effect from 23rd July 2017

It came to the attention of the parish council on Friday 26th May that Trent Barton would be withdrawing the V2 bus
service with effect from 23rd July 2017 as it has become commercially unviable.
Notts County Council was only notified of the withdrawal of the service by Trent Barton during week commencing 22nd May.
Below is the text of an email received from Notts County Council at 10.54am on 30th May, with the latest updated information:

In response to the withdrawal of the V2 service, the County Council is currently preparing a number of options to provide bus services for those communities affected, whilst  providing  Value for Money and maximising accessibility to key services and destinations .  These plans once prepared will be discussed internally early next week on the return of Chris Ward ,  Manager , Transport and Travel Services,   followed by a briefing to the  Chair, Councillor Cottee  and the Vice Chair, Councillor Wheeler  of the Communities and Place committee. Therefore we will be back in touch with you next week to provide further details and l hope this e—mail reassures you that we are working hard to ensure there is a bus service/s available for residents from the 24th July 2017.

Further updates will be provided through Facebook, email & website as they become available.
